Why are times out by an hour or two?

Have you noticed that a shift displays a different time when a volunteer uses the clock-on feature? Or perhaps the start and end times in a timesheet don't match? The most common reason for this is a timezone difference.

1. Check the timezone set in your organisation settings

  1. Navigate to My Organisation and then to the Settings tab

  2. Under the Organisation heading, see the default timezone

Note: only Organisation Administrator and Billing Owner roles can access the My organisation settings.

2. Check the timezone set in your account

  1. Open the account menu by selecting your avatar in the top right-hand corner

  2. Select My account

  3. When the modal appears, see the timezone

3. Have staff check their accounts

If you have invited staff to INVOLVE, have them confirm their account is in the correct timezone too, especially if they add shifts in a program.

Good to know: When you add staff, their default timezone is set to your organisation's. However, the staff member's timezone will not automatically update when you change your organisation's.
