August 2026 release notes

August flew by with so many exciting improvements rolling out! We focused on making schedule management faster, easier, and more flexible. From new sorting and filtering options to improved visibility of scheduled volunteers, these updates help you spend less time navigating your roster and more time supporting your volunteers. We can't wait to hear what you think!

⭐ New Feature

Filter your program schedule

If you have a lot of volunteers taking up vertical space in your schedule, you are going to LOVE this new feature. It'll help you focus on what matters most: checking open shift coverage, finding cancelled shifts, seeing only who is or isn't scheduled, or hiding all volunteers so you can set up open shifts without the noise.

Take a look:

Navigate to a program schedule and find a view with a few shifts, then select the new filter button to open the filter dropdown.

  1. Rows: View just open shifts, assigned or unassigned volunteers
  2. Open shifts: View just the open shifts that are completely empty (all slots available), partially filled or fully filled (no slots available)
  3. Shift status: Turn off all shifts and focus on the ones you need by selecting their status. For example, show unconfirmed shifts so you can remind volunteers to confirm them, or show only cancelled shifts so you can reassign them.

You can combine filters to show, for example, unassigned volunteers and open shifts that are completely empty or partially filled, so you can get the coverage you need.

🚀 Improvements

Sort your program schedule

Change your schedule grouping from roles to either the shift title or the shift supervisor for greater flexibility when checking coverage or organising larger or more complex schedules.

Take a look:

  1. Navigate to your program schedule
  2. Select the sort dropdown button and select to sort by Role (default), Shift title or Shift supervisor

Filter your volunteer list by who is scheduled or not scheduled

This feature was co-created with thanks to funding and input from the Perth 2027 World Police and Fire Games team led by Jacquie and Glen from the WA Police.

So many new ways to see who is scheduled, and this is another little gem. We've added a new filter to your program's volunteer list based on whether volunteers are scheduled (or not scheduled) for shifts within a date range. This lets you view and even export the data you need. For example, filter to see who is scheduled this weekend, then export their names and dietary requirements to arrange catering. You can export any profile or custom fields.

Take a look:

  1. Navigate to a program and select the Volunteers tab
  2. Select the More filters button
  3. Open the Scheduled filter, select scheduled, and enter a date range
  4. Select the Apply button

Tip: Remember, you can save this search if you need to refer back to it often

Support for OpenID Connect SSO

This feature was co-created with thanks to funding from NSW Health

We're expanding our Single Sign-on (SSO) options to support more organisations and identity providers. In addition to Microsoft Entra, we now support authentication using OpenID Connect (OIDC). If your organisation uses an OpenID Connect compatible identity provider and would like to explore SSO integration, contact our support team to discuss.

Additional improvements that are like little treasures

A few small improvements, most suggested by our wonderful users. Enjoy these:

  • Open shift requests now reference the volunteer's role, so you can decide at a glance whether they're suitable. This small change provides clearer visibility when reviewing shift allocation and requests
  • Improvement to the timesheet reporting and exports to include the shift title
  • Updates to custom certificate names in more places
  • Performance, reliability and security improvements (always)
